Most hay fields have been renovated with hybrid Bermudagrass. Vaughans #1, Tifton 44, and Midland are the hybrid hay brands harvested, along with Common Bermuda. Hay fields are regularly tested, limed and fertilized, and baled hay is tested for moisture content and protein yield. These are just a few of Lone Oaks hay fields, and the farm is constantly seeking nearby land to lease for cutting hay on contracts for shares or rent.
